TMJ (Temporo Mandibular Joint) Massage (Offered only by Diana Delisle, RMT)
Jaw Pain and Dysfunction
The jaw (or TMJ for Temporo Mandibular Joint) is frequently unacknowledged as a source of pain in many head, neck, face, and vocal conditions. People who experience headaches, motor vehicle accidents, sport or work site injuries, often have jaw issues that can accumulate to overwhelming levels.
Clenching the teeth is a very common habit during sleep, while concentrating, or from stress. This often results in an accumulation of both compressive forces in the joints and asymmetrical muscle tightness which can lead to clicking, pain and ultimately joint damage.
TMJ Massage therapy treatments can help resolve the joint compression and muscular tightness and can re-pattern the jaw mechanics and save pain and difficulties decades later. LEARN MORE.
Swedish Massage
Swedish massage involves the manipulation of the soft tissues of the body, including skin, muscles, ligaments, and tendons. The approach incorporates deep tissue, trigger point therapy, lymphatic, stress relief, or relaxation techniques, depending on your needs.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage concentrates on the deeper layers of the body’s tissues. It releases chronic patterns of tension in the body, through slow strokes and deep pressure in the contracted area(s). Deep tissue massage therapy is therapeutic and corrective and done correctly, should not cause discomfort.
Sport Massage
Active bodies need to work correctly to operate at peak performance. Whatever your physical activity strain, sprains, and injuries can keep you out of the game and off the field. Sport focused massage treats the injured area and other affected muscles and tissues to deliver results. Sport massage also provides guidance and self-care to keep you working at your optimal level.
Prenatal/Postnatal Massage
Pre- and post-natal massage resolves the aches and pains that accompany the changes in the mother’s body. It focuses on neck, shoulders, hips, legs and the lower back, addressing the impact the change of gravity has on the body. Another important aspect of pre- and post-natal massage is the benefit of stress release inherent to the emotional and hormonal changes that accompany each pregnancy and post-partum period.
Modern Cupping Therapy (Offered by Diana Delisle, RMT & Amey McGurk, RMT)
Modern cupping therapy can be added into any massage treatment. This technique has been created for bodywork and is therapeutic for many conditions. Modern cupping is effective in relieving chronic pain at old injury sites and can address conditions such as: fibromyalgia, diabetes, pre- and post-op edema and inflammation, chronic edema, scar tissue and adhesions, and cellulite. This versatile technique mimics massage movements ranging from deep tissue and myofascial release to the light pumping movements of lymphatic drainage. Used regularly, this therapy is a terrific approach to promoting wellness.

All prices include HST. Massage therapy is covered by most extended health care plans. Insurance receipts are provided. Due to the rigid documentation and registration requirements for claims, Poised Massage Therapy is not in a position to provide treatments for WSIB or MVA injury claims.
